Pedro the National?

Well, I don’t think the Nats are going to give Pedro $5 million a year to play…they just can’t afford it. If Pedro comes down a bit and takes less money, would he have any fantasy value in Washington?

Hey, the Nationals have at least proven they have the ability to win a game on any given day. So, if Pedro comes along to the Nationals, does he carry any real fantasy value with him?

Last year he had a 5.61 ERA in 20 starts for the Mets, so it’s not looking like he’s going to bring too much fantasy value. In the WBC he pitched 6 scoreless innings. Promising? Or is it just a ticket to a couple million dollars for one more year of pointing up and thanking the clouds, or the sun, or maybe it’s just the brim of his jerry-curl-juice-stained ball cap.

I don’t think there’s much value here with Pedro, no matter where he goes. And word is that the Angels are also interested in the guy. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not going to say that I’d never pick him up on a Sunday morning when I’m down by 2 or 3 wins and 15 K’s and I need to take a chance. Other than that, I’m staying away from the guy.
