Japanese Fantasy Baseball?

Let’s get something straight America…fantasy baseball is big in Japan, too. Actually, I’m not real sure if fantasy baseball is big for the Japanese. I do know that Tuffy Rhodes, an American playing pro ball in Japan, just hit his 450th homerun against the Nippon Ham Fighters. Yes, the Nippon Ham Fighters. That’s pretty crazy.

Tsuyoshi Shinjo wears masks and does other crazy things before games when hes warming up. (This is an actual mask - this is not an enhanced photo.)

What else is crazy? This guy. It’s Tsuyoshi Shinjo warming up before a game against the Yomiuri Giants at the Sapporo Dome. This guy is apparently known for his pregame antics and routines. I’d love to see Randy Johnson pull this off.

Leave it to the Japanese to put their twist on fantasy baseball. I’m not sure if I like their version better, but I’m definitely interested.
By the way, if you’re in a Japanese fantasy baseball league, then you need to pick up Yu Darvish. That’s about all I’ve got on that one.
